Collect ALL reviews from a URL

Issue: Using keyword tracking for reviews is problematic, because we miss 90% of reviews about a brand/retailer.

User behaviour: When people are leaving a review on a shop's Google page, or on a product page on a retail website, they often don't mention the brand name and product in full. They don't need to: the context is obvious. However, as currently stands, we can't collect these reviews in Pulsar because they don't contain the keyword in message title or body text.

Functionality we want: Being able to collect ALL reviews that have been posted to a specified URL, regardless of keyword, so that we can have complete review datasets for a brand or product.

User workflow:

  • New, 4th type of search on the "Set up a search page": Keyword, Audience, URL-shares - and Reviews
  • Alternatively, could be a subcategory of URLs, i.e. posts from a URL, rather than posts-containing-a-URL
  • User has to submit which Review URLs they want to track -- this may be 1 product page on a website, but could be hundreds of retailer Google review sites
  • Pulsar then creates a search that brings back all posts from this URL - ideally with historics availability...

Client use case #1: Halfords
They want to use Pulsar to analyse their customer reviews more systematically, so they can analyse trends over time, search patterns by keyword & topic, etc. In total, they receive 1000+ Google Reviews per week across 700 shops and Autocentres. Trustpilot is also very important to them. We've submitted the URLs of these sites to Boardreader, but as we track on a keyword basis, we still only collect a fraction of their reviews. They are very disappointed by this.

Client use case #2: Coty & beauty category
Being able to analyse product reviews in depth is essential for innovation projects and analysing beauty product launches. We have previously had to build datasets manually in Excel from copy/pasting webpages, as Pulsar's data has been so incomplete.

Review sites: Ulta.com, Sephora.com, Boots.com, Superdrug, FeelUnique.com, CultBeauty.co.uk - etc.
